I had a really positive experience with the previous owner Patrick, but unfortunately my experience under the new owners is dissapointing Communication is difficult. I made multiple phone calls and sent several emails over a number of days, but it was consistently difficult to speak with someone directly. I was repeatedly asked to leave a message with the assurance that someone would call me back but no one ever did. The main issue was that I needed a statement submitted, I was advised that an extension had been obtained on my behalf. However, I later received a penalty email from the ATO advising that my BAS had not been lodged by the due date and no extension had ever been organised. Thankfully the ATO confirmed I would not receive a penalty fee on this occasion, but I was provided with false information from My Tax Accountant. Based on my recent experience, I cannot recommend this business and will not be using them in the future.

John who has taken over the business from the super reliable and effective Patrick Sheehan has made this once amazing accounting firm dog's breakfast. I had to chase he and his team to lodge my tax returns and during my 2nd or 3rd reach out he communicated that he has secured an extension with ATO but didn't share anything formal. Finally, when the tax return was lodged, I got a surprise 2000 dollar surcharge for late submission. I got fuming when I realised what had happened. I am not alone, the two people I referred MyTaxAccountant to also had the same experience with John and his staff. Steer clear. I am going to report his business to ACCC with proofs from our email exchange and my ATO tax summary and statements.
